Ms. Pollan is a graduate of UC Berkeley and George Washington University, and has worked as a sustainability consultant in the private sector, as well as in the green building sector.  Recently, she participated in an EU-funded study tour of Belgium and Holland to explore innovative approaches to energy, mobility, water management, and the circular economy.  Prior to coming to New Orleans in 2005 to work on Hurricane Katrina recovery, she worked on tsunami relief efforts in Indonesia, and taught English as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania.
