Silvia Gómez-Juárez, M.A.

Originally from Mexico City, Silvia Gómez-Juárez is a professional interpreter, translator, and aficionado of language studies. She received her B.S in Interdisciplinary Studies and her M.A. in Romance Languages with a concentration in Spanish from UNO. She graduated from the Loyola University Translation and Interpreting Program where she later worked as an instructor. She is a court interpreter certified by the Louisiana Supreme Court and a candidate for the federal certificate. With her frequent collaborator Dr. Lisbeth Philip, she has presented papers on their work interpreting for undocumented minors in the legal system and on their more recent research into inclusive and non-gendered language.
